Facility Infrastructure Master Plan Development

For the past 40 years, education institutions have struggled with their responsibilities for identifying their facilities’ needs and the responsibilities to fund the continuing renewal of systems and the correction of maintenance.

As facilities age, budgets are tightened and maintenance is deferred; the physical space of an institution begins to slowly decline and eventually reaches a point where it affects other aspects of the institution. Facilities, however, can be effectively revitalized in a variety of ways, restoring their appeal to students, faculty, staff and other constituents and once again reflecting positively on the institution.

Facility Infrastructure Master Plan development is supported through our Life Cycle Infrastructure Program Management offering, where CTS develops a multiyear infrastructure plan that takes into account both the current and future condition of the facilities, along with program needs. The deliverables include:

  • Capital Infrastructure Facility Assessment
  • Life Cycle Models of existing systems/buildings with future mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems
  • Recommendations for a five year plan to address deteriorating infrastructure
  • Recommendations on the development of a web based infrastructure “dash board” to capture individual building utility costs, capital infrastructure condition reports, building floor plans, life safety systems, and other critical information.
